Working With The Entities

Now, it’s time to take a look at what working with these entities. It might surprise you to hear how they actually work, and what types of changes you might expect to occur for you. These entities are extremely powerful, and communicating with them requires a great bit of energy, especially at the beginning, when you’re new to the whole thing. You will probably end up noticing a tired feeling in the first weeks of your practice. This is to be expected as the entities take energy from you to be able to communicate. But remember, they just don’t take, they also give back. And after you practice awhile, you’ll notice the energy drain start to fade a bit. This is a sign your initiation level is rising.

You may also notice a change to your sleeping patterns, as your “Deep Mind” begins to awaken. This is normal, at least for operations of this type. If you never have had much recollections of dreams, you should start noticing more in this arena. All in all, the changes are pretty dramatic, and I think they might be unmistakable for many practioners. Like any other endeavor, the more you practice, the less you’ll notice the changes, and indeed, new channels of your conciousness will awaken, as if from a deep slumber. It’s these faculties which will allow you to become “more than human.”

How often should you work with the planets? If you have the time, everday is the optimum. This is especially true at the beginning, when you’re just starting out and beginning to awaken the Deep Mind. The more you practice, thee more facile you’ll become in communications, as well as in your clairavoyance. You may also notice an improved faculty of intuition. All in all, at the very least, the daily invocations will make you much more adept at ceremonial magick and meditation. Plus, you should witness a boost in your creative output.

All in all, you should find the work interesting and rewarding. If you don’t, you may need to establish some goals and work from there. One thing you can be assured about, is that the Intelligences do want to help, and can teach you things about your own life and about most subjects. Each Intelligence has an area of expertise, but you might be surprised at their range. One of the most subjects they have insight about is the plight of mankind and the human condition. To become a mage, you essentially need to know yourself, and to endeavor to know others. No great magus has ever existed, who wasn’t a lifelong student of human nature. People might change from century to centure, but the essentials of humanity never does. Vices and virtues are rarely different, despite radically different customs and cultures.

So what’s the best way to learn from an Intelligence? To ask questions, and follow up based on the answers you receive. This requires and earnestness to record the results, and the ability to use a penetrating logic when you ask questions. Always try and follow up on any answer that isn’t clear to you, or where you need further information. If there’s something they don’t want to tell you, they won’t. They tend to be direct in their communications, and if your level of initiation isn’t sufficient to obtain the knowledge, they’ll flat out tell you. This makes it easy to advance, in a sense, because you’re sure of your footing.

Another fact you’re bound to notice upon continued efforts, is that each of the Intelligences speaks in their own Voice, and they have their own clearcut areas of expertise that they’ll be happy to outline. They are also all well versed in the rules of their realm and planetary magick in general, and will always be able to help you out when it comes to your understanding.

Intelligence, as all entities do, appear to people in whatever way they want, and are subject to the sensitivity of the operator. It’s not surprising that different cultures have called different Gods by different names, and even had unique relationships with them. This is almost always a function of the sensibilities of the culture. But, despite the variations, you can generally find the same core personality comes out in each one.

Now, at this point you may be thinking just how crazy this all sounds, and you are right to suggest such a point. Keep in mind, the biggest pitfall of this kind of work is delusion. Anyone who has mystical experiences needs to consider that everything they’re “hearing” could be the work of an active imagination, or worse, so safeguarding this type of actitivity is paramount.

If you look at the old Grimoires, you’ll see some hilarious attributes listed as the specialties of certain devils, or even Angels. They can “help you look for buried treasure”, “cause women to appear naked”, and all such doggerel. To say the least, this type of activity is bound to appeal to people with very active imaginations and no shortage of credulity. If you really think an entity will help you “live 600 years” then you may have to honestly have your head examined or take a step and work on your naivitee. Let’s face it, spurious claims such as these are all a part of “wishful thinking” of the sort that has kept snake-oil salesman in the chips for centuries. If an entity persists on having these type of abilities, make him offer some concrete proof. If he can’t chances are you’ve attracted a “Wanderer” who was intriqued by your ceremony. Banish him at once at give your work a second try.
